Day
1
COCA/TIGUINO |
One
of our professional guides will meet you in the
city of Coca. From there you will travel by bus
and canoe to the Huaorani village of Tiguino. The
village sits on the banks of a river of the same
name. After visiting the village you will canoe
further down the Tiguino to observe parrots, toucans,
monkeys, and other wildlife. The day ends with dinner
and a night walk through the jungle to see nocturnal
insects. |
Day
2
TIGUINO |
The day begins with a hike through the jungle accompanied
by a Huaorani guide who will teach you about his
culture, including such things as how the Huaorani
use medicinal plants to cure common ailments and
how they imitate the sounds of different birds when
hunting. In the afternoon you will return to the
lodge for lunch. After lunch you will go fishing
in the nearby river and at night you will return
to the river to look for crocodiles. |
Day
3
TIGUINO |
Early
in the morning you will navigate the river Tiguino
to observe jungle birds and mammals. Breakfast.
After breakfast your guide will lead you on a hike
through the rainforest to observe a great variety
of flora and fauna. After the hike you will return
to camp for lunch. In the afternoon, you will navigate
a lake in paddle canoes. Dinner. At night you will
go to the river to look for crocodiles. |

4
TIGUINO |
Breakfast.
In the afternoon the Huaorani villagers will teach
you how to make curare, a dangerous poison used
for hunting (the Huaorani dip their blowgun darts
in poison to kill large game). Following the lesson
guests and their Huaorani hosts will compete in
blowgun contest. You will conclude the night with
a farewell dinner and cocktails. |

5
TIGUINO/COCA |
Breakfast.
You will pack your gear and navigate back up the
Tiguino river to Coca. You will have lunch on the
way. You will then travel by bus from the drop-off
point to the city of Coca. End of tour. |

| Note:
This
tour is available for 5 days and 4 nights (Monday
to Friday) and also for 4 days and 3 nights (Friday
to Monday).
If
you decide to fly back to Quito from Coca, you
will need to stay in Coca an extra night - the
tour ends at 5:30 PM and flights to Quito are
available only in the morning. If you decide to
fly we will help you reserve lodging in Coca.
This tour includes:
· Canoe and bus transportation: Coca/Tiguino/
Coca.
· Lodging in Coca and Tiguino.
· Entrance fee to Yasuni National Park.
· English speaking guide.
· Purified water.
· Rubber boots.
This
tour does not include:
· Drinks.
· Tips.
· Waterproof poncho or raincoat.
