/ HORSEBACK RIDING PROGRAM (4Days)/
Corazon Volcano - Machachi - El Chaupi - Cerro Santa Cruz - Inca Ruins

  • Day 1 You will be picked up at your hotel for a 1-hour drive to the Valley of Tambillo. Here we will meet our horses and, after a short description of the tour, begin our journey to Aloag. Along the way we will enjoy scenic views of El Corazon Volcano and the inactive Pasochoa Volcano. After a picnic at Cruze, we will head to a hotel near the Machachi railroad station where we'll spend our first night.
    Day 2 We will pass El Corazon Volcano and enter the area of the Illiniza and Cotopaxi Volcanoes. At lunchtime, we will arrive in El Chaupi, a village at the base of Illiniza. There, we will eat lunch in Casa Equatorial. In the afternoon, we will ride up to 3,800 meters to enjoy a breathtaking view of the Cotopaxi, Chimborazo, and Tungurahua volcanoes. Then, we will ride back to the Casa Equatorial and our van will bring us to our hostel, Cuello de Luna, where we'll be spending the night.
    Day 3 Our van will bring us to the Casa Equatorial, where our horses will be awaiting us. On horseback, we will pass the Cerro Santa Cruz Crater and ride through the forest surrounding Cotopaxi. We will also ride through the Mutalo Valley and visit San Jose de Yanayacu. After eating lunch, we will continue riding towards the Lasso Valley, to the Hacienda La Canega where we will spend the night.
    Day 4 After breakfast we will ride back to the Mulalo Valley where we will cross the Pan-American Highway. From here, we will ride until we arrive in San Augustin del Callo. Here we will eat lunch in the old Monarch Salon and then visit the surrounding Inca Ruins. We will also have the opportunity to view llamas in the peaceful gardens of this historical hacienda that once belonged to the Augustinos Monks. From here, our van will drive us back to Quito with a brief stop in Sangolqui. Around 5pm we will back in Quito.

    Note: For the riding programs the participants shoud have riding experience, be physically fit, and an adventurous spirit.
    Participants should not weigh more than 85 kg.

    The price includes: Transportation from Quito; emergency vehicle supervision throughout the tour ; return transportation on horseback to Pululahua; all meals; accomodations in hotels, reserve lodges, and tents; horses and equipment; the tour guides and additional staff; entrance fees to national parks, pools, and other entrance fees; and wellington boots.
    The price does not include: Travel insurance and alcoholic beverages.
