TAMBO
Approximate hiking time: 5 hours. The trek begins
at 3.800 meters and ends at 4.200 meters. You will
camp at 3.600 meters near a lagoon. A cook, a multilingual
mountain guide, and two porters will accompany you
on the trip. |

QUITO/COTOPAXI
NATIONAL PARK
In the morning, you will travel by bus to a natural
history museum inside the National Park. You will
then hike to a parking lot below the refuge where
climbers camp before summiting Cotopaxi. You will
rest and then continue your climb to the refuge,
which is located at 4.800 meters. Approximate hiking
time: 1 hour. You will spend the night at a lodge
at the refuge. In the evening, your guides will
brief you on the climb and important safety procedures.
Return to the refuge. Dinner. Start ascent of Cotopaxi's
glaciated peak at 1:00 AM. The climb begins at 4.800
meters and ends at 5.987 meters. Approximate hiking
time: 5 to 7 hours. Approximate time of descent:
2 hours. |

COTOPAXI/RIOBAMBA
Depart Cotopaxi for Riobamba. Enjoy the afternoon
and evening at the historic Hacienda La Cienega. |

RIOBAMBA/CHIMBORAZO
Early in the morning, after a delicious breakfast,
travel to Chimborazo and hike to the Whymper refuge,
also known as "Agujas de Whimper". Approximate
hiking time: 1 hour. Return to La Cienega. |

5 |
CHIMBORAZO/AMBATO/QUITO
After breakfast, depart from the hacienda for the
"Cañon del Chimborazo". This is
where you will begin a 60-km, thrilling downhill
mountain bike ride to Ambato. The ride begins at
3.900 meters and ends at 2.700 meters. Return to
Quito. |
